Every five years HVC develops an End Land Use and Mine Closure Plan for the mine. The Territorial Stewardship Department participates in the development and review of these plans and provides technical recommendations to HVC and the CNA. The End Land Use Plan and Closure Plan was updated in 2016 and again in 2017.
The End Land Use plan, which reflects Nlaka’pamux values and interests, is used to help guide annual reclamation activities on site. It is a living document and tool which will help inform how Nlaka’pamux people want to use the land after mine closure.
